Mom of 3 Plus Twins

Welcome to my blog! I’m Kate. I’m a mom of 5, which honestly, I am still trying to wrap my head around. We had 3 awesome children (who are still awesome, btw), but I knew our family wasn’t complete. “How did you know?” This is a question I’m occasionally asked, and I’ll tell you. I would straight up panic when I’d be out and do the usual head count. I’d count 3 and have a few moments of panic until I remembered…I only had 3.

So, a little over a year ago, we decided to have another baby. Shortly after, I got ridiculously sick. I never really got nauseous when pregnant, so I assumed I’d gotten a stomach bug. Three days of not eating and not drinking much of anything landed me in the hospital where they had to use an ultrasound to get an IV in. They decided to check baby, and we found out it was actually two babies!

After I found out I was having two, I went down a rabbit hole. Many times in fact. I tried to do research about what I needed, what the best products were, space saving tips, and while there were a lot of reviews and information out there, I didn’t find what I was looking for. I wanted a real info. Not that it’s hard. Not that they cry at the same time. I wanted the emotional, nitty gritty, down low of what my life would be like, and I just couldn’t find that.

Honestly, I don’t know if anyone could’ve prepared me for all of it. And I don’t know if I can give the nitty gritty of parenthood and twin mom life justice, but I’m going to try. As a mom of 3 singletons and a mom of twins, I want to help other mommas out there who are just trying to make it through the day. Give some support. Sprinkle some hope. Share some product advice for what you need or don’t need. I want to help. I’m not going to sugar coat my experiences with motherhood and twins. It’s awesome, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world, but it’s freaking hard. It’s not for the faint of heart and you most definitely have to have a sense of humor, or I’m afraid you just won’t make it through the day without crying, which happens too. A lot.

Join me on my journey and just maybe we can lighten the load for each other.
